Deep Drop
Electric reels, serious depth, and fish most anglers will never see in person.
What this trip is
Deep dropping is its own discipline. The depths involved are past what anyone is cranking by hand, so the trip runs on electric reels, and the fish that live down there are ones you simply cannot reach on a standard bottom trip.
It is the most specialized day on the list and the highest-ticket one, and it appeals to a particular kind of angler: people who have already caught what there is to catch in the usual depths and want to go look at what is underneath.
The gear is on the boat. What you need to bring is the willingness to spend a good part of the day watching a line go a very long way down.
Who it suits
Anglers who have done the standard offshore trips and want something genuinely different.

Other ways to fish this water
This is what we built the program around. Long runs west to the Middle Grounds and beyond, federally permitted red snapper, deep drop rigs in a few hundred feet of water, and overnights when the fish are worth the hours.
What to expect
Before you step aboard
The details that make the difference between a good day and a long one.
Water, food, towels and sunscreen. All bait, tackle and equipment is provided by Gulfport Charters. One rule we hold firm on: no spray sunscreen on board.
Full-day offshore charters meet at the marina at 5AM. Custom charter departure times are set with your captain during planning.
Cancellations within 7 days of the trip forfeit the deposit. If we cancel for weather, or the captain calls it for any reason, you are not penalized — pick a makeup date or take a full refund.
Yes. That said, these are long days in the Florida elements. We don't recommend them for young children, elderly adults, or anyone with pre-existing conditions.
Please do. Before your charter you tell your captain what you want to focus on and they build a plan to maximize your time on the water. Or just show up and let us run it.

Dates go fast in season
We're not satisfied until you're hooked.
Tell us when you want to go and what you want to catch. A captain answers personally, usually the same day.
